Tournament  Rules

Rules are Posted  in  Each  Timebox

**All Birth Year Division teams are guaranteed 5 full ice games, and top 4 teams per “FULL” division of 6/8 teams will play 6 games.

**The head coach or manager MUST check in at the tournament office and fill out Game Sheet 30 minutes before game time. Please bring roster stickers!!

​

**All visiting teams MUST stay at a sponsoring hotel. STAY TO PLAY !!! 

​

**2013 Division games are 15-20-20 stop time with flood/scrape every 2nd period. NOTE: 2014, 2015, & 2016 Div Games are 15-20-20 stoptime with flood/scrape at the end of each game.

​

**There is a 2-minute break in between periods, and each game starts with a 4-minute warm-up session.

​

**Coaches, have your team ready to start warming up when the clock is set OR your team will have NO warm-up time. BE READY !!

​

NOTE: All games have a set time to complete due to the Twin Arena schedule.  There is a maximum of “1 ½ ” hours or 1 ¾ hours per regular game slot and a maximum of 1 ¾ hours per semi-finals and finals, including presentation.

​

**In the semi-finals & finals, the above rule still applies, but there is a 10-minute OT sudden death if teams are tied. The tournament rink director should be on hand if OT applies to clarify rules if needed.  NO  Overtime in  Regular  games

​

**In the finals, there are the above rules and an extra 5 minutes allowed for presentation. Note : If the score is still tied at the end of the 10-minute OT allowance, then an additional 10 minutes of sudden death time will be allowed until we have a winner. Presentation to follow.  

​

Note : Coaches who try to burn the clock by SLOW LINE CHANGES will be assessed a 5-minute “DELAY OF GAME” penalty !!! The home team DOES have the last line change. Please CHANGE LINES FAST or face a penalty.

​

**IF a player is HURT or INJURED , a 4-minute time-out will be called by the referee, and the clock will be stopped. Face off at the nearest circle to the injury location on ice.  The clock will restart at the drop of Puck.  This time-out can change if the injury is worse than thought to be. Rink Manager and  Referee will                        discuss.

​

**Each team is allowed ONE 2-min time-out, & all other Canadian hockey rules will apply.  No combining timeouts into one bigger time-out. 

​

**Twin Arena Rules all Apply in Regards to Game Slots, Behavior & Times.

​

**The “ZERO TOLERANCE” Rule will be in effect for coaches, parents, and players against referees, tournament officials, rink managers, and timekeepers. Rink staff, other coaches, other parents, and other players. PLEASE keep your negative comments to yourself OR pay the severe penalty, which is YOU will be banned from the arena and your team will receive a 5-minute delay of game penalty.

**All teams can have a maximum of 19 players (11 forwards & 6 D-men) and 2 goalies = 19 players total.

​

**On the bench, teams can have a maximum of 1 head coach and 2 assistant coaches/first aid persons/helpers.

​

** All Teams Must have a First Aid Bag & Certified  First Aider  on the bench for all Games

**The Head Coach is Responsible for the Conduct of His Staff and Players

​

**2013 Division is Full Contact. IN 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017, there is NO body checking allowed, BUT rub outs and angling towards the boards are allowed. 

​

**A player can only play for one team and play in one division.​

​

**All dressing rooms MUST be left clean after your team has left. Teams leaving dirty rooms will be penalized a 5-minute major at the start of the next game.

​

**ALL  Teams Must carry a Liability Insurance Policy of at least $2,000,000.00                               

​

**Teams will line up after each game and bump gloves through the line.

​

**Players fighting will be ejected from further play in the tournament; zero tolerance.

​

**Any player given a “hit from behind” penalty will be penalized 5 minutes. If severe—10 min.  If it happens a 2nd time, the player is ejected from the tournament.
